Kevin gets out by leveraging his status as the heir apparent to the Beast King.Hawkeye already had the lock picked and could have left any time he wanted to, but he tricks the guard into locking himself into the cell as the cherry on top.Duran pulls the same "goad the guard into coming into the cell to teach the prisoner a lesson" trick as Crono, but being a voiced character, Duran lays down some blisteringly hilarious (and nasty) insults.
The remake actually makes this scene funnier with the addition of Angela's voice acting and all the closeups. Angela literally tells the guard she's having trouble taking her clothes off and then smacks him upside the head when he enters.The Jadd stronghold breakout is hilarious (and awesome) no matter who is the one doing it.Angela throws a small tantrum in annoyance, before dropping a 1000-ton weight. When using her Ton Annihilation attack, (Spellbinder Class Strike) the 10-ton weight she drops as Rune Seer simply bounces off the wall of ice she throws up first.In the remake, if Angela is with the party when fighting the Machine Golems on Stone Gap Bridge, she declares her motivation:Īngela: We.It's even funnier in the voiced remake as not only does she still have the lisp, but also an inexplicable Brooklyn accent and a vocal range that doesn't match her pint-sized body at all. The Official Translation gives Charlotte Elmer Fudd Syndrome, and it is never not goofy, especially not combined with her (having been so sheltered) descending into Angrish whenever she gets upset.He goes so far as to say they're the epitome of evil as if it's a compliment before prancing off to make his escape. Goremand's response to the party if the Masked Mage is undone by the Dragon Lord or Dark Majesty has him heap accolades on the person he's been made messenger for in what is obviously sarcasm.Hawkeye: Hmm, should we walk back out, come in again and pretend you're not here.? Goremand: Oh, heavens no! If I had, I wouldn't be lollygagging around here! I'd be waiting behind you in ambush, preparing to take you with the element of surprise! Hawkeye: Goremand! Are you the one who abducted the faerie?
